Holistic
Trauma Therapy
Weaving talk therapy, somatics, and ritual to support you on every level.
Our “good girl” programming is killing us.
Women’s mental health is inseparable from the impact of the patriarchy on their psyches, bodies and spirits. Many girls and women experience:
✭ sexualization from a young age
✭ relational, physical and sexual abuse, assault and harassment, with very rare instances of subsequent justice or community support
✭ exploitation of domestic labour and underpaid careers
✭ medical trauma and dismissal from care providers
✭ paradigm-shifting hormonal changes though their monthly cycle, perimenopause, and menopause
✭ disconnection from nature and empowering forms of spirituality
✭ chronic emotional repression, fawning, people-pleasing and masking behaviours
✭ anxiety, depression, burnout dissociation, rage, shame, PTSD, C-PTSD, chronic physical illnesses, and autoimmune diseases
We carry these experiences with us and relive them, as they are embedded into our societies.
This is holistic mental healthcare,
from a fellow woman and survivor who understands.
This rage, pain and diminishment lives in our bodies, minds and psyches. We need multi-modal support that can meet all parts of us. With support, you can:
✭ understand your survival patterns with deep compassion, reverence, and choice moving forward
✭ repair your relationship with your body, learning to listen to distressing sensations as cues for a need, breaking patterns of self-abandonment
✭ explore somatic practices, including movement, breath, and rest practices to help your nervous system actually shift
✭ find your way back to your own values, creativity, intuition and power
✭ build authentic, meaningful relationships
✭ reconnect to the cycles and seasons of nature as a balm and a guide
In holistic psychotherapy at Sister, we can weave between:
✭ relational & talk therapy
✭ movement practices
✭ breath & voice practices
✭ guided visualization
✭ writing and creative expression
✭ elemental rituals and ceremonies
✭ guided rest practices
It all depends on your in-the-moment needs and desires.
This isn’t just about survival and coping, it’s about getting free.
Meet your therapist
Hi, I'm Cassie. I'm a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT), Registered Psychotherapist and Canadian Certified Counsellor with over a decade of training and experience in trauma and nervous system healing. I specialize in supporting survivors of relational, sexual, and childhood trauma with chronic stress, anxiety, burnout, PTSD and C-PTSD.
I see your experiences through the lens of the nervous system, which helps us understand how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are shaped by your body's efforts to keep you safe and connected.
I understand how powerful these responses can be, both professionally and personally. I'll meet you where you are without judgment.

I primarily work with adult women who have experiences of childhood, relational, and sexual trauma. We are often working to unlearn the lies of patriarchy that have been internalized in psyche and body so that their lives can be reclaimed as their own.
🌈 2SLGBTQIA+ clients are wholeheartedly welcomed, including nonbinary and transgender clients.

I hold a 200hr yoga teacher training in Ashtanga-Vinyasa Yoga from Kranti Yoga in Goa, India (2017), a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Conflict Studies and Human Rights from the University of Ottawa (2020), an 800-hour Yoga Therapy Certificate with the School of Embodied Yoga Therapy in Ottawa (2024), and a Masters in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University (2025). I have taken supplemental training programs focusing on yoga philosophy, grief and death with the School of Embodied Yoga Therapy.
In addition to teaching yoga in about a dozen yoga studios in Ontario and BC, I worked as a yoga teacher and yoga therapist serving immigrants and refugees, survivors of sexual and childhood abuse, and survivors of human trafficking with various community organizations over the years, including the Sexual Assault Support Centre in Ottawa, Parkdale Food Centre, Jewish Family Services, A New Day, and more. I started and ran a nonprofit organization called Warrior Yoga which provided free access to trauma-informed yoga practices in Ottawa, Toronto and Stockholm from 2018-2021.
I have had the opportunity to write curriculum and teach yoga teacher training programs for 200-hour training programs as well as 50-hour Trauma-Informed YTT programs from 2022-2024. I also ran my own yoga retreat business, Nest Holistic 2021-2026, hosting yoga retreats in Ontario, British Columbia, Costa Rica, and Italy, focusing on communal and nature-based healing practices.
I have had the opportunity to work with various research projects from 2021-2024, including research on the impacts of yoga and mindfulness on patients with Schizophrenia at the Royal Ottawa Institute of Mental Health Research, and community-based yoga programming for diverse low-income communities and young mothers with Dr. Francine Darroch at Carleton University.
I have also cohosted the podcasts Warrior Stories and Hope is Resistance (season 1 + 2), in addition to running my substack publication which provides regular multimedia healing resources to survivors for free.
I completed my psychotherapy internship at Shine Mental Health Collective in Ottawa 2024-2025, providing support to people experiencing chronic stress, burnout, PTSD, and C-PTSD. I continue to receive regular clinical supervision from Tesia Bryski, RP and owner of Shine.
My work currently focuses on the integration of somatics and spirtuality into clinical mental health treatment for female survivors or trauma and patriarchal violence in my private practice, Sister. Welcome! ❤️🔥

I take a holistic, multi-modal approach, integrating somatic, nervous system-focused approaches based in yoga therapy and Polyvagal Theory with Mindful Self Compassion, Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Strength-Based and expressive arts approaches.
When appropriate, I integrate earth-based ritual and ceremony to support clients with transitions, endings, and beginnings, honouring our losses and beginnings as natural processes of life.

Our first session is an intake where my goal is to get to know you and understand what's happening in your life. I'll ask about your mental, physical, and social wellbeing, and we'll explore what brings you to therapy. You're always welcome to say "no thank you" to any topics you're not ready to discuss. We move at your pace.
-
Not necessarily. Sessions are tailored to your in-the-moment needs. Sometimes we focus more on talk, sometimes more on somatic practices, and often we weave between both. You're always encouraged to request what you need.
-
No prior yoga experience is required. And if you'd prefer to focus on talk therapy only, or yoga therapy only, we can do that too.
If we're working with yoga therapy, it helps to have a mat or carpet, blocks, a bolster or pillows, blankets, and an eye covering. But don't worry if you're missing things. We'll work with what you have.
